Qantas Been Vaccinated? Be Rewarded: Everything to Know

Qantas has just announced its Been Vaccinated? Be Rewarded program – here’s everything you need to know, from how to participate to what the prizes are and more.

There’s no denying that many of us are waiting restlessly for the first signs that we might be able to travel freely again, domestically and internationally. With the Australian federal and state governments asserting that travel restrictions will only be eased with a higher rate of vaccine uptake across the community, many businesses are focused on encouraging more Australians to get vaccinated.

Qantas’s new Been Vaccinated? Be Rewarded scheme is designed to reward those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with bonus points, flight discounts and more. Eight lucky participants will also win a year’s worth of flights, hotel stays and fuel.

“Getting vaccinated is an important step that every Australian can take that brings us that little bit closer to life as we knew it. As the national carrier, we want to recognise those who have made the effort to protect themselves and the community,” said Alan Joyce, CEO of Qantas Group. “The impact of the pandemic on the travel industry and our own Qantas Group team members means we have a clear vested interest in the success of the vaccine rollout.”

“Our crews can’t wait to get back to reuniting family and friends, taking people on holiday and putting some energy back into the whole tourism industry. For us, getting the vaccine rate up to 70 and 80 per cent means thousands of people can go back to work,” he continued. “With the Federal Government’s vaccine program ramping up across the country, now is the ideal time to say thank you to Australians for stepping up and protecting themselves and others.”

Who can participate in the Been Vaccinated? Be Rewarded program?

Fully vaccinated Australians are eligible to participate in the Been Vaccinated? Be Rewarded program from 8am on the 24th of August 2021. If you’re not an existing Qantas Frequent Flyer, simply sign up to be a Qantas Frequent Flyer and download the Qantas App.

From there, you’ll need to upload a COVID-19 Digital Certificate PDF, which is available from Medicare or MyGov, to the Qantas App. Then you’ll be able to select the reward of your choice. Think carefully, as rewards cannot be changed once your initial choice has been selected.

To be eligible for a reward, you have to be over the age of 18, based in Australia at the time of applying and fully vaccinated with two doses under the Australian national COVID-19 vaccination program. Rewards can only be claimed between 24 August and 31 December 2021.

What are the rewards of the Been Vaccinated? Be Rewarded program?

Eligible participants can choose from the following rewards:

1000 Qantas Points
15 Status Credits
$20 off a Qantas flight (promo code)
$20 off a Jetstar flight (voucher)

In addition to these rewards, all participants will be entered into a draw to win one of eight major prizes, which includes a year’s worth of:

Qantas flights for across more than 60 destinations across Australia, and internationally once borders open
Accommodation across 345 Accor hotels, resorts and apartments
Fuel from any of BP’s 1400 service stations in Australia

When are rewards distributed?

Redeemed Qantas Points, Status Credits and promotional codes for $20 off Qantas flights will be attributed to your Frequent Flyer account within three days of your application.

Jetstar vouchers will be sent via email to your registered email address within seven days.

When will the major prizes of a year’s worth of flights, hotel stays and fuel be drawn?

All participants in the Been Vaccinated? Be Rewarded scheme will be entered automatically into the major prize draw and the eight major-prize winners will be drawn on 12 January 2022 and announced on 14 January 2022. All winners will be contacted via email and phone and have 12 months from the date of issue to use their prize reward points and flights.
