Every Seat on This Qantas Flight is for Travellers Booking With Points

A street in Tokyo lit up at night.

Have you been diligently saving up your Qantas Points for a special occasion?

Well, the time has come to use them – Qantas has launched a flight where every seat is only bookable with Qantas Points.

The first Frequent Flyer redemption flight will take off on 21 October 2019 on the Melbourne to Tokyo (Narita) route. Seats on the Points Plane – an Airbus A380 – are available from 35,000 points, excluding taxes and charges, and seats are available across Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First at the standard redemption rate.

Exclusive experiences will be available during the flight, including giveaways, a bespoke cocktail and meal service and pyjamas.

“We know our members love to redeem their points on travel so we’re excited to be able to give them new ways to access these rewards,” explains Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth.

“Member-exclusive flights mean more redemption opportunities for our members and less time searching for reward seats.”

An A330 Points Plane will also accommodate return travellers 26 October, or, for those wanting to depart on a different day, they can book a Classic Reward Seat or use Points Plus Pay on any commercially available seat with Qantas or a partner airline.

All you need to do to book a ticket is log in to your Frequent Flyer account, input the flight details and select “Use Points” as you search for your flight and ensure the correct flight – QF79 – is selected.

Bookings for the Points Plane open at 7am on 16 May so mark your calendar now.
