There’s Now Amazing Art Hanging From The Ceiling of Sydney Airport
Passengers transiting through Sydney Airport now have more than one reason to look to the skies, thanks to a newly unveiled art installation on the ceiling of the International Terminal.
United Neytions, created by leading contemporary artist and Kamilaroi man Archie Moore, sees 28 vibrantly coloured flags draped above Sydney Airport’s T1 International Terminal, creating a cacophony of colour on the 17-metre-tall ceiling.
Part of a partnership between the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) and Sydney Airport, the work aims to express the diverse history and heritage of the original Aboriginal nations, with each flag representing a different local community.
The permanent work will capture the attention of almost 15 million passengers that transit through the international terminal each year.
