Vivid Sydney 2016
Sydney will set the stage for the world’s largest festival of light, music and ideas when Vivid returns in 2016.
The festival, which last year attracted 1.7 million people, has become one of the hottest events on Sydney’s cultural calendar, giving us reason to explore the city after dark.
Bringing together creative minds from across the globe, the city becomes a spectacular canvas for “light-art” sculptures, installations and grand-scale projections. This year, Western Sydney artist Huseyin Sami will illuminate the Museum of Contemporary Art’s heritage-listed façade.
Beyond the technicolour lights, Vivid Live sees a cutting-edge music program hosted at the Sydney Opera House. Past performers include Australian musician Flume and American singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens.
Vivid Ideas will also return with a diverse program of seminars and events that celebrate innovation, creativity and community.
Vivid runs from May 27 to June 18. For more information, visit vividsydney.com.
