Qantas A321XLR

Airbus A321XLR (NEO)

Designed for your comfort, enjoy the spacious cabin and innovative features of the A321XLR.

Our aircraft

As part of our Australian domestic fleet renewal program, we've ordered 28 new spacious and modern Airbus A321XLR aircraft. The longest-range variant of the Airbus A320 family will be landing in April 2025.

Five metres longer than the Boeing 737 it will gradually replace, the A321XLR will feature more seating within the Business and Economy cabins without reducing the space between the seats.

A more spacious cabin

Meticulously designed by David Caon, the widebody cabin features ambient LED lighting, high ceilings and large windows for more natural light and expansive panoramic views. Plus, there's increased storage for your carry-on items, with the overhead lockers offering room for around 60% more bags than the Boeing 737 aircraft.

Innovation at your fingertips

Stay connected in the sky with fast and free Wi-Fi, using your own device to stream from the Qantas Entertainment app and more. Plus, with the convenience of wireless charging pads in Business, and dual USB A and C charging ports throughout the aircraft, you'll arrive at your destination relaxed and recharged.

Xtra Long Range performance

Fly further than the Boeing 737 and open a world of opportunity with more direct Australian domestic and international routes like Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Lower carbon emissions

The A321XLR is an efficient aircraft that will generate less carbon emissions per seat than the aircraft it replaces on like for like routes.

Your inflight experience

The cabin and seats of the Qantas A321XLR have been designed with a focus on maximising your comfort. With high ceilings and large windows that provide natural light, enjoy a sense of openness and expansive panoramic views.

The names of our A321XLR aircraft will be after great roads, rivers and walks in Australia as a nod to our iconic travel opportunities and the importance of connecting this landscape and beyond.

Our first aircraft will be named Great Ocean Road, after the 240kms road along the Victorian coastline, winding through scenic headlands, rainforests and beaches, and representing regional Australia at its best.

As more aircraft are delivered, we'll reveal their names.
