Stretching along the Coral Sea about 100 kilometres north of Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast extends all the way to Rainbow Beach - named for its distinctive multi-coloured sand dunes. Along the pristine coastline choose to stay in Caloundra, Coolum or Noosa Heads. Take on the entire 25 kilometre stretch from Golden Beach in the south to Mooloolaba in the north or enjoy strolling along sections of the walk at a leisurely pace.

Getting around

From the airport: Sunshine Coast Airport is an ideal entry and exit point. Taxis and transfers are available at the terminal. Getting to your destination can be as fast as 5 minutes to Marcoola, 10 minutes to Coolum and Maroochydore, 15 minutes to Mooloolaba and around 30 minutes to Caloundra, Noosa and Beerwah. For the hinterland areas, allow 35-40 minutes.

In and around the region: both buses and trains are available to explore the region.
