When to visit

Ahmedabad has a hot, dry climate with three main seasons: summer, monsoon and winter. During summer (March to June) the temperature is very hot ranging from 24°C to 43°C. The best time to visit is from November to February, with an average temperature of 30°C. It's a good time to explore the Kankaria Lake, take a heritage walk through the old city and visit the beautiful Jama Masjid mosque. Monsoon season runs from mid-June to September and can be hot and humid.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD). It is an international airport serving the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India. The airport is located in Hansol, 9 km north of central Ahmedabad.

Arriving in Ahmedabad

The helpful Pranaam Officers at Ahmedabad International Airport will greet you when you land and from there, getting into town is easy.   

Getting into  Ahmedabad  from  Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport  

There are a number of bus, taxi and car rental options available at the airport to take you to your destination. An app based taxi service is available and is easily accessible from the arrival zone, plus car rentals are available at the arrivals hall. The nearest bus stop from Ahmedabad Airport is Sardar Nagar Approach, which is about 12 minutes walking from the airport facilities. Ahmedabad Airport has a car parking facility at both domestic and international terminals for the convenience of passengers.

Getting around Ahmedabad

Getting around Ahmedabad is easy and affordable, whether you’re using public transport, driving, catching taxis, transfers, joining a tour, or even hiring a bike. Ahmedabad railway station is easily accessible with lines connecting throughout the city, along with the bus system. Ahmedabad Metro is a rapid transit system for the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India. If you have a car it’s easy to travel by road or take a rickshaw. Bike sharing services are also available to explore the main city sights.
