Even if you don’t visit for wine tasting or horse riding, Cassegrain’s restaurant is worth the detour, and only 15 minutes from Port Macquarie. Seasons's setting among the vines and gardens will get you in the mood for a long lunch or indulgent dinner. The menu is French-leaning, with a charcuterie plate entrée and dishes such as duck a la orange and steak frite with Café de Paris butter. It’s a bright, open space adjacent to the winery’s cellar door where children are welcome (there is a kids’ menu and colouring-in books are available) with a verandah for al fresco dining in warmer months.
