Jesinta Campbell must be one of our busiest “slashies”. The model-slash-TV presenter-slash-David Jones ambassador took out the Miss Universe Australia title in 2010 and hasn’t stopped since. Her work takes her all over the country and the world, so Campbell’s got her plane routine down to a tee. She shared her best travel tips with us.

How often do you travel?

I went through a stage where I was on a plane once every two to three days but this has settled down a bit and now I travel a couple of times a fortnight. I've only had one international trip this year.

Where are you off to next?

Melbourne is my next destination with a possible trip to New York City on the cards.

What do you have in your carry-on luggage?

Lavender oil, Charlotte Tilbury lip balm, moisturiser, Simple make-up wipes, a travel scarf, my laptop and good headphones.

How do you stay comfortable on a flight?

For long-haul flights, I put my Qantas pyjamas on before the flight even takes off. I pull my hair into a bun and wipe off all my make-up and apply a generous amount of moisturiser. I also apply some lavender oil to my temples and behind my neck.

For domestic flights I make sure I have a good playlist ready to go, put my headphones on and relax for the flight.

What is your secret to staying fresh on a flight?

Make-up wipes. Sometimes just wiping your face and hands and behind your neck can make you feel instantly fresher. For domestic flights, I also like to spray a rosewater mist to freshen up.

What is always in your suitcase?

A pair of runners, work-out wear and a skipping rope are always the first things I pack! Sometimes I don't get access to a gym when travelling so I ensure I take some equipment with me in case.

Do you have a secret to travelling light?

When travelling domestically I never check luggage in, I only take carry-on. I can pack for up to five days in carry-on, I've got it down to a fine art! I don't pack too many shoes and plan my outfits for each day, so I don't take anything I don't need.

What is the most memorable place you’ve ever travelled to?

India, Bora Bora and New Zealand, I can't just choose one! India was my first trip filming for Getaway. I've been twice and can't wait to go back again. Bora Bora and New Zealand were well-deserved holidays my fiancé and I went on. We did nothing but relax for an entire three weeks.

What is the most lavish place you have ever stayed in?

The Taj Lake Palace in India. I kept pinching myself because I thought I was in a dream.

How do you overcome jet lag?

I actually don't really suffer from jet lag! I am the kind of person that can sleep anywhere so I always fall asleep when I'm flying.
