Qantas NDC Booking Time Limits

For Qantas NDC bookings, two different time limits apply to an unticketed order:

  • Ticketing Time Limit (TTL)
  • Price Guarantee Ticketing Time Limit (PGTTL)

Ticketing Time Limit

A ticketing time limit (TTL) applies to all Qantas NDC orders and is identified when you price your customer’s order.  The ticket must be issued on or before this date to prevent automatic cancellation of the order by Qantas.

TTL information is displayed in the advanced purchase paragraph of the fare rule display as it is for EDIFACT GDS bookings.

The TTL is automatically created by Qantas based on the offer selected for your customer’s journey. Once the TTL has expired, the order will no longer be accessible, and a new order must be created for the customer.

Price Guarantee Ticketing Time Limit

All Qantas NDC orders also have a Price Guarantee Ticketing Time Limit (PGTTL). The price, which includes the fare, taxes and surcharges is guaranteed in a Qantas NDC order up to the time of the PGTTL. The PGTTL will always be earlier than, or equal to the TTL in the order.

The PGTTL benefits the customer by providing sufficient time to complete other requirements such as approvals and accommodation while ensuring the price of the Qantas NDC order will not change.

The PGTTL will automatically be created by Qantas based on the offer that you have selected for your customer’s journey. The selling and/or ticketing agent should not reprice the order prior to the PGTTL.

Once the PGTTL has passed, the selling agent is required to reprice the order to enable the order to be ticketed. The original price is no longer guaranteed, and the new price will override the original price in the order.

Ticketing

  • Prior to the PGTTL, the order should not be repriced, and the guaranteed stored price is used to issue the ticket.
  • After the PGTTL has passed, you will receive a warning message if you attempt to issue the ticket. The order must be repriced before ticketing.
  • The order should always be repriced by the selling agent and not the ticketing agent (if the selling and ticketing agent are different).
