Discover Palm Cove

With award winning restaurants, world class resorts and some of Australia's finest galleries and shopping, Palm Cove is the perfect place from which to start your Great Barrier Reef adventure. Whether it's kayaking, snorkelling, fine dining, rainforest excursions or simply relaxing on a beach that takes your fancy, you can't go past Palm Cove.

What are the must-see attractions in Palm Cove?

It's hard to overstate just how many things there are to do in Palm Cove and the Palm Cove region. Blessed with one of the world's most sublime climates and surrounded stunning natural wonders, it is no surprise why many visitors never want to leave. Here's some attractions and activities to get you started.

First and foremost, a visit to the Great Barrier Reef is a must. Whether you dive, snorkel or simply view from above in a glass bottom boat, there's many tour operators who will help you enjoy the experience of a lifetime.

Fancy getting up close and personal with one of the planet's most extraordinary World Heritage sites? Be sure to visit the Daintree Rainforest, the world's oldest rainforest. Literally tens of millions of years older than the Amazon and stretching over 1,200 square km, it's no wonder why the iconic David Attenborough declared it to be "the most extraordinary place on earth".

Full of unique wildlife and host to such sites as Cassowary Falls and Mossman Gorge (where you can swim in crystal clear waters), The Daintree is truly a bucket list destination.

As well as ocean based activities on the reef such as snorkelling, diving and deep sea fishing, be tempted with white water rafting, hot air ballooning, sailing, kayaking and horseback riding. Take a trip on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, or simply relax at one of Palm Cove's many excellent restaurants and cafes and watch the sunset over the beautiful Coral Sea.

Wherever you go and whatever you do in Palm Cove, you'll be assured to have the time of your life.
