Qantas extends Voluntary Carbon Program to indirect booking channel
Qantas is enabling Australian travel agents to help their Voluntary Carbon Program, having announced a significant extension to its carbon credit program.
The national carrier is the first airline to offer Australian based customers the ability to purchase carbon credit when booking flights in the indirect channel with an Australian travel agent, with the feature made possible through the NDC-enabled Qantas Distribution Platform. The Voluntary Carbon Program has traditionally only been available to customers who book flights directly via Qantas.com.
This enhancement to the Qantas Distribution Platform will see Qantas support more conservation and environmental projects in Australia and around the world. Over the years, these projects have included protecting the Great Barrier Reef and working with Indigenous communities to reduce wildfires in Western Australia.
Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn 10 Qantas Points for every dollar spent on carbon credits.
All Australian travel agents who are making bookings for Australian based customers using the content from the Qantas Distribution Platform will have access to the Voluntary Carbon Program. Please contact your Certified Technology Partner to find out when the Voluntary Carbon Program will be available for your agency.
