Lower Pricing via the Qantas Distribution Platform Agency FAQs

The difference in price via the Qantas Distribution Platform is up to 4% off Australian domestic fares, and from 29 August 2023, up to 5% off trans-Tasman fares. The discount is off the published base fare only (excludes applicable taxes, fees and carrier charges). 

The difference in price may also vary depending on the route, class of travel and the difference may change over time. 

Lower pricing on trans-Tasman fares is available to travel agents based in Australia and New Zealand who are accessing Qantas Distribution Platform content either directly or through an Approved Technology Partner. 

This lower pricing initiative is for select fares made available to indirect booking systems accessing Qantas Distribution Platform content either directly or through an Approved Technology Partner.  

The Qantas Distribution Platform provides agents with access to seamless servicing functionalities, an enhanced shopping experience and will continue to drive retailing efficiencies for agents, customers, and Qantas. Lower pricing will encourage more agents to access Qantas Distribution Platform content, and ultimately drive better outcomes for our mutual customers. 

Qantas has been working with our Technology Partners over the past few years to ensure that your agency has the opportunity to access Qantas Distribution Platform content.

If your agency is not currently accessing Qantas Distribution Platform content yet, you and your customers are not benefiting from Qantas’ lower pricing initiative.

Qantas Agency Connect will continue to service travel agents regardless of what fare they have issued a ticket against. 

Qantas is working with your nominated Technology Partner to support their readiness in providing you access to this lower pricing initiative as well as the content and offers already enabled via the Qantas Distribution Platform.

The Qantas Channel is a commercial agreement between Qantas and an agency and only those agents registered for the Qantas Channel will be eligible to access Qantas Distribution Platform content offers. 

If your agency is registered for the Qantas Channel, your Travel Agency Manager should speak with your nominated Approved Technology Partner to discuss access to Qantas Distribution Platform content. 

You will only be able to price and ticket a fare that is part of the lowering price initiative if you are accessing Qantas Distribution Platform content via your Technology Partner.
