We have integrated with a number of financial institutions (including liquidity providers) around the world that provide pricing and execution services.
The foreign exchange rate is used based on a wide variety of factors including available liquidity in the market, available prices from liquidity providers, other market conditions and any sales margin agreed to by the client.
Given the nature of foreign exchange markets, there is no single interbank rate. Our interbank rate is determined by us having reference to live exchange rates from our partners and market data sources, and then calculating a blended rate from those sources. The blended rate may involve calculating the weighted average of one or more exchange rates available to us.
We don't include a markup specific to you in the interbank rate. However, foreign exchange markets generally only operate 5 days per week, Monday to Friday. During the weekend, and other times when markets are closed or where rates are unavailable to us, an additional markup may be applied to our interbank rate to account for such situations.
Confirmation of the foreign exchange rate used in any conversion is provided immediately after a foreign currency transaction.
When you initiate a transfer, you can typically expect it to be received by your recipient within 3-5 business days regardless of the transfer method selected.
However, please note in some cases such as public holiday periods), there may be some delays to process requests for supporting documents or inquiries regarding incorrect account information.
If we're able to offer a local payout method to the country of your recipient's bank account, then it's generally safe to assume that this option will be quicker than choosing SWIFT.
An international money transfer is like any other transfer. You don’t need to open an account with a bank in a foreign country to send a payment overseas.
In fact, with Qantas Business Money, you can select your preferred currency to pay in with no hidden fees and our best foreign currency rate, regardless of how big or small your business is.
