Last year, Avis and Budget managed 147 million rental days – so you know they offer great service.
As a Qantas Business Rewards member you'll earn 4 Qantas Points for your business, plus 4 Qantas Points for the individual who is renting, for every AU$1 spent on Avis or Budget car hire bookings through qantas.com^.
Here are just a few of the benefits of hiring your next vehicle through Avis and Budget:
By booking through qantas.com you'll earn valuable Qantas Points for both your business and for yourself as the individual renting. Simply visit the site and select the dates you need to travel, as well as the pick-up and drop-off locations, and you'll be shown the rates for a variety of different vehicles across both Avis and Budget.
Enter your Avis or Budget profile number at the time of booking and you'll also be able to manage your reservation via the Avis or Budget apps. If you don't already have a profile, click here to join for Avis or here for Budget.
"We work hard to make sure the booking process is easy and that you're able to make it right at the time of your trip-planning process," says regional managing director Kaye Ceille.
With more than 500 locations across Australia, including at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide airports – as well as 11,000 locations globally – you'll never be stranded trying to get to your destination.
Small cars, medium sedans, large SUVs or even a luxury car if you want to treat yourself for a few days: whatever type of vehicle you need to hire for yourself or your business, you'll find it with Avis. There's a range of brands and models, from Toyota to Mercedes-Benz, and Avis is also expanding its Signature Series of luxury-style cars.
If you need a commercial vehicle, Budget has a large range of utes, vans, tautliners and even mine-spec vehicles, as well as cars. Commercial vehicles can only be booked through budget.com.au, but you can still earn Qantas Points by becoming a member of the Budget Business Club.
As well as considering the number of passengers you'll potentially be transporting in your hire car, think about how much luggage they'll have with them. It might be a good idea to upgrade to a bigger car if everyone travelling with you has large bags – no one wants to spend a drive with a massive suitcase on their lap!
You can pick up a portable wi-fi router from Avis locations at several airports. This means you won't chew through your device's data plan as quickly and you can connect several users to the wi-fi simultaneously, both of which make a huge difference when you're working on the road.
"You can stay connected and you don't have to rely on a hotel or public wi-fi," says Ceille.
"For vehicles that don't already have GPS we have portable GPS systems as well which are handy if you have multiple appointments to get to."
As well as roadside assistance, Avis and Budget have a range of protection packages that will cover you while you drive – particularly important if you're in a new place where you don't know the roads. You can add excess reduction, personal effects and baggage insurance as well as personal accident insurance onto your hire.
Ceille advises making yourself familiar with any of your business' policies around car hire and always reading through any insurance contracts before you begin your drive so you know exactly what's covered.
"In many cases, small businesses are less likely to have a corporate policy in place around car hire so purchasing the excess reduction gives you peace of mind by making sure you're covered up to a certain limit so you don't have to worry about any hassles in the event the car gets damaged," she says.
The only other thing you need for a good drive? Music to make any business trip feel like a road trip – which Ceille definitely recommends.
"I always connect my smartphone to the radio via bluetooth so I can listen to the music I like!"
