4 (more) common myths
about Qantas Points and the
Business Rewards program

There are a few myths out there about Qantas Points
and the Qantas Business Rewards program.

Below we debunk some of the common examples that might be holding you back from taking full advantage of your Business Rewards benefits so you can maximise your potential to earn and redeem.

Myth: You can only get Qantas Business Rewards member discounts if you book flights seven days or more in advance.

Reality: Incorrect, there are no longer any time constraints when it comes to booking flights, getting the discounts you're entitled to as a Qantas Business Rewards member and accumulating points in your Account.

As long as you:

  • are logged in to your Business Rewards Account on qantasbusinessrewards.com
  • or logged in to your Frequent Flyer Account on qantas.com (if you have connected your Frequent Flyer and Business Rewards Accounts)
  • are using the Qantas App
  • or a booking through your Travel Agent and provide them your ABN and Frequent Flyer number you will be able to access your flights savings and be rewarded. If you’re a Level 1 member, you can save up to 6% on the base fare of selected flights; for Level 2, save up to 9% on the base fare of selected flights; and for Level 3, save up to 10% on the base fare of selected flights. Find out more about flight savings and levels here.

Myth: There are only a few partners you can earn points through with Qantas Business Rewards.

Reality: No matter what industry your business is in, whether you fly a little or a lot, or if you're a sole trader or a growing enterprise, there are a number of different everyday ways businesses can earn Qantas Points as well as partners that offer products and services to suit different industry sectors. It's the loyalty program that has been specifically designed to reward small and medium sized business spending.

Qantas has partnered with more than 50 companies to help you be rewarded for everyday business expenses, on a diverse range of products and services that are important to SMEs.

Our carefully curated partnerships cover everything from travel and accommodation to banking and finance, insurance, workplace supplies, energy, cleaning and waste, marketing, digital technology, human resources and construction equipment. These are some of the most trusted and respected brands in Australia so you can be sure your business is in good hands.

Myth: Qantas Points are the only thing you get as a Qantas Business Rewards member.

Reality: Earning points on flights and every day business expenses is certainly one of the great benefits of being a Qantas Business Rewards member, especially because it means in some cases you earn points twice, once as an individual+, and once for the business^ on flights, hotels and car hire.

But there are also plenty of other benefits for your business:

  • Save up to 10% off the base fare of selected flights with no minimum spend~
  • Save up to 30% on Qantas Club memberships for you and your employees*
  • Access to member exclusive and special offers and sales from Qantas and our 50+ partners
  • Flexibility to redeem your points to invest back into your business or to put towards your next holiday

Myth: I have to choose between my tiered benefits and my Qantas Business Rewards benefits when I fly – I can't get both.

Reality: Not true! Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Business Rewards work better together to get you even more! The Qantas Points your business earns are on top of the Qantas Points and Status Credits earned by the Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Whenever you fly you'll enjoy all the perks of your tiered Frequent Flyer status as you normally would while travelling – from the moment you book your flight until the moment you land at your destination – while ensuring that your business is rewarded at the same time. Just make sure you enter your ABN and Frequent Flyer number when you book your flight.
