Dietary Required Meals
Dietary required meals can be requested for customers with medical or dietary needs, for religious beliefs and for children.
Use this guide to assist you in booking and servicing your customers' dietary required meal requests.
We provide a broad selection of meals to suit most dietary requirements. Customers may bring their own food to ensure their specific dietary requirements are met. Unfortunately, we are not able to refrigerate or heat their meal onboard. The meal must comply with local security screening requirements.
All the listed meals can be booked via your Technology Partner.

From 1 October 2024, we’re making some important changes to our dietary required meals served onboard, and the following meals will no longer be nut-free:
- Diabetic (DBML),
- Jain Vegetarian (VJML),
- Kosher (KSML),
- Muslim (MOML) and
- Hindu (HNML).
Our gluten intolerant, fruit platter and child meals will remain nut-free.
We’re aware of the challenges of peanut allergy sufferers and where possible seek to minimise the risks of exposure by:
- not offering peanuts as a bar snack on all Qantas flights and from Qantas owned and operated lounges, and
- minimising the use of peanuts or peanut based products in our inflight meals.
While all reasonable steps are taken by Qantas and its caterers to reduce the exposure to peanuts inflight and on the ground, Qantas cannot guarantee an allergy free environment onboard or in our lounges. It's always possible that other passengers may bring peanuts or other nuts onboard or into the lounges with them. Passengers may also be served a range of other nuts including almonds, cashews and macadamia nuts as bar snacks or after dinner snacks.
For this reason, we recommend that passengers carry any medication they may need with them in the cabin of the aircraft and be ready to administer the medication if necessary.
