Qantas kicks off 24-hour sale for Footy Grand Finals

Qantas is launching a 24-hour sale on flights to and from Melbourne and Sydney to help fans get to the footy on Grand Final weekend.
Sale fares include:
- Melbourne-Sydney/Sydney-Melbourne from $139 one-way
- Brisbane-Melbourne from $175 one-way
- Brisbane-Sydney from $139 one-way
- Auckland-Sydney from NZD $249 one-way
There are also sale fares available on other cities into Melbourne and Sydney over that weekend, including $129 one-way from Adelaide to Melbourne.
The sale applies to flights:
- To Sydney between 28 September – 1 October 2023 and out of Sydney between 2 – 4 October 2023
- To Melbourne between 28 – 30 September 2023 and out of Melbourne between 30 September – 4 October 2023
The sale fares are available for a 24-hour limited time on Tuesday 19 September 2023 from 10am. Refer to your GDS or Technology Partner for more information.
Qantas is waiving the standard flight change fee on these fares for one flight change, so that fans can put the fare towards any other flight (route or time) over the next 12 months if their team doesn’t make the Grand Final. (fare difference may apply).
Upcoming preliminary/semi-finals weekend
After the final siren of the Carlton v Melbourne match, Qantas added one additional flight from Melbourne to Brisbane on Friday 22 September (QF618).
Economy one-way fares from Melbourne to Brisbane (direct) on Saturday 23 September ahead of the game have sold out. However, fares on flights from Melbourne to Brisbane are available on Friday 22 September from $377 one-way.
Seats may become available for sale if customers booked on these flights cancel or move their bookings.
